I don’t do Christmas..

Well not entirely true I love all aspects of it but the money spending part in January you’ll understand why that is the case.

Let’s start at the beginning.  I used to do Christmas big, and I mean big not thousands of dollars but you know at least a thousand but that all changed like 6 years ago.

You see one year I spent my blood sweat and tears making homemade gifts for everyone, cans that I had painted for each specific person in my family and then filled with goodies, on top of that I also went hog crazy and baked a tonne and gave that out to friends and family it was a great year and I loved doing it but I wasn’t doing it for the right reasons sure I wanted to make people happy but I also wanted to hear the wow I can’t believe you did this praise too.  You see most of the time I feel underestimated, underappreciated, just here and I thought if I went broke making people notice me then it would fill me up for a little bit and it did for a little bit.

Then I noticed how much stuff my nieces and nephews get and started to concentrate on experiences for them because lets face it they remember more what we do then what I get them plus no more broken heart for me when I see my hard earned money in the trash from broken toys, laptops etc.

Life then got in the way and the money wasn’t there like it was before and hasn’t really been. I mean one year I had to take most of my money to pay for a trip to Mexico for my friend’s wedding and the deposit was required before Christmas and the rest in Feb so no Christmas that year.

Then dad got sick and well all my extra money was making sure that his life hadn’t changed because who knew how long he was going to be with us turns out he has beaten doctors expectations and like us we don’t know how long we have.

Now it is truly because the money isn’t there to do it and in all honesty if it was I still don’t think I would spend like I used to, in adopting this new attitude I avoid all the stress that normally comes with Christmas.

I don’t have to stress out if so and so likes my gifts, or how I’m going to pay the bills after Christmas, well I do that anyways but it’s not because I blew it on Christmas it’s just the way life is right now which I’ll get into in January.

I don’t even have money this year to buy new Christmas decorations not even one’s at the dollar store so I’m going to colour some pictures in bright colours and put them up around my apartment and put a sign on the door and maybe try to buy some dollar store lights or something.

Good thing I’m not a little kid with all the expectations of Christmas and wishing for a bunch of presents under the tree that won’t be there. That I know what the real reason for Christmas is and why I should celebrate it.

Welcome to Blogmas

Okay so I can’t believe it that were going into the month of December that this year is over in 30 days.

Vlogmas is a trend on youtube and I’m not sure it has translated to the blogging world but I’m going to push myself to post something daily for the next month and maybe it will continue into the new year.  We’ll see.

Lots of big things happening this month besides Christmas, I turn 40.  On December 16th.

I’ll do a major reflective post on that soon but for now lets keep it light and fluffy.

I’m debating about how real I want to get on here right now no one is reading so maybe I’ll just let it all out.  I need an outlet and this might be it.

As in previous attempts my self confidence and worrying what others would think kept getting in the way and I felt like I needed to censor my thoughts well this blog attempt will stick because I’m going to be real well keeping some secrets not for censorship but for privacy.  I don’t tell my immediate family everything I don’t plan on sharing it all with everyone reading.

The one place that this won’t be the case is my finances as I plan on this blog being my accountability partner in relation to finances I am going to be completely real with the mess I’ve got myself into.  That won’t start till Jan because I’ll be honest I’m not too sure if I’m going to follow through yet with this aspect because point blank I’m ashamed.

So lets have December be light and fluffy and in Jan we’ll hit the ground running with the real life stuff.

Welcome to December and your last month of your 30’s. How the heck did that happen.

2016 is my year because I said so and 2017 is my Comeback year.  Lots of things to look forward to.  Lets get it started and finished at the same time.

God Bless

Tina Marie

My First Blog Post!

Well on this blog, starting over again.

This will be the fourth attempt at starting a blog.  I have been trying to be a consistent blogger since blogging became a thing.

I kept thinking that I wanted a forum to broadcast my thoughts outside of my inner circle without the judgement and sly comments but then worried about the same thing from complete strangers.

Oh well here we go I have  a lot of things that who knows maybe will help someone else and if nothing else getting these rambling thoughts out of my head will give it more space for more important things like life.

I’m not going to promise consistency right now, but I will promise is that this is going to be an honest portrayal of my life as I remember it happening.

This fourth attempt is because I keep getting this nagging feeling that my words might do some good for me and for others.

There is much to talk about and you’ll find that I ramble if you like short and to the point, I’m not it.  I tend to write like I’m having an internal conversation and sometimes that means that my points are not clear, grammar sucks and well it’s not rehearsed or researched maybe as we go along that will change but for now this is the way things are going to be.

So welcome to Tina Marie
